More opportunities are waiting for you in Canada!
Every year, over 250,000 people make Canada their home, attracted by its robust economy, outstanding education system and universal and free healthcare system. The Canada Health Act of 1984 provides all Canadians access to a healthcare system that’s publically funded. Nurses are the backbone of every health care system in Canada keeping it afloat. According to nurse.org (2021,Nov), Canada is ranked globally as the 3rd most highly paying country in paying Nurses. Nurses play a vital role in rebuilding communities and supporting people across their lifespan, providing care, education and advocacy. But, the growing demand and needs of people accompanied by the surge of the aging population is resulting in a shortage of nurses in Canada. In addition, the pandemic has exacerbated the condition leading to understaffing, high turnovers, burn outs, and greater resignations, migration to other provinces or other countries etc. According to Ontario Nurses Association, In 2018, Ontario had just 690 RNs per 100,000 Ontarians, compared to the Canadian average of 831 and in 2020, Ontario had the lowest nurse-per-capita ratio in Canada, with 665 registered nurses (RNs) for every 100,000 people. The Canadian average is 814; Ontario would require 22,003 more working RNs just to reach the national average. The provincial government aims to invest $100 million to boost 2,000 nurses in the long term sector to address shortage by the year 2024-25. This investment will be intended to train thousands of personal support workers (PSWs) and nurses who would be interested in pursuing careers in long term care.
As per the Conference Board of Canada, the need for registered nurses will increase to a significant extent (more than double). As mentioned before, the presence of a strong healthcare system here makes Canada an enticing destination for international aspirants who want to take their nursing career to new heights. The most sought after nurses include those having specialist skills in operating rooms or emergency departments or those wishing to function in an isolated or remote indigeneous community.
The average salary of a certified nurse practitioner in Canada is around $97,990 annually while that of a certified registered nurse anesthetist is $133,000 annually. Add to this fact that the nursing profession in Canada is highly adaptable, with nurses having the freedom to work part time or full time.
“Necessity is the mother of invention”. Existing shortage in the number of nurses and the increasing demands of the population has generated a great necessity and demand for more nurses to be filled in. Thus Canada has become the land of opportunity for Nurses across the world with handsome wages. This gap can be filled by the placement of more and more Nurses.
Nexus would take pride in providing job opportunities for Nurses within and outside the Country to meet the shortage in Canada. Helping the families and community. If you want to become a part of helping the community we are pleased to welcome you to our team.
